How to use Kerung
Everything you need to know β from creating an account to placing your first order, posting an RFQ, or selling your products. Use the table of contents below to jump straight to what you need.
For buyers
Create your account
You can browse Kerung as a guest, but creating an account lets you place orders, chat with sellers, save items, post RFQs and track everything in one dashboard.

Open the registration page
Click "Sign up" in the top-right of any page, or visit /register directly.

Choose your account type
Pick "Buyer" if you mainly want to source products. You can later upgrade to "Seller" or "Both" from your dashboard.

Enter your details
Provide your full name, business name (optional), email and a strong password. You can also continue with Google.

Verify your email
Check your inbox for a verification link. Click it to activate your account. If you do not see it, check spam or use "Resend".

Complete your profile
Add your phone number, default shipping address and preferred language from Settings β Profile so checkout is faster.
Sign in & password reset
Standard email/password login with optional 2-factor authentication.

Sign in
Click "Sign in" in the header. Enter your email and password. If 2FA is enabled, type the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

Forgot password
On the login page, click "Forgot password?" and enter your email. We will send a reset link valid for 1 hour.

Stay logged in
Sessions are valid for 7 days on the same device. Use "Sign out everywhere" in Settings β Security to revoke all sessions.
Browse & search products
Find suppliers and products through search, categories or curated sections.

Use the search bar
Type a product name, category or seller name in the header search bar. Suggestions appear as you type.

Filter results
On the search results page, use the left sidebar to filter by price, location, verified sellers, MOQ, condition, and more.

Browse categories
Click "Categories" in the header for the full taxonomy (Agriculture, Textiles, Electronics, etc.). Tap a category to see all products in it.

Explore curated sections
The home page shows Featured, Trending, New Arrivals, Picked For You, and Recently Viewed sections to help you discover products.
View a product & contact the seller
On a product page you can see images, specs, MOQ, price, seller info and start a conversation.

Read product details
Each product shows photos, description, specifications, minimum order quantity (MOQ), available variants and the seller card with verification badges.

Start a chat
Click "Chat with seller" to open a real-time conversation. You can attach images, request a custom quote or send an offer.

Save for later
Click the heart icon to save the product to your wishlist. Saved items sync across devices.

Compare products
Click "Add to compare" on multiple products and visit /compare to see them side by side.
Place an order
Add items to your cart, choose an address and pay with the method that suits you.

Add to cart
On a product page, choose the variant and quantity (must meet MOQ), then click "Add to cart". The cart icon shows the live count.

Review your cart
Click the cart icon to review items, edit quantities or remove products. Each seller is grouped separately because orders are placed per seller.

Checkout
Click "Proceed to checkout". Choose your shipping address (or add a new one) and a delivery method.

Pick a payment method
Select eSewa, Khalti, ConnectIPS or bank transfer. You will be redirected to the gateway and back to Kerung after payment.

Order confirmation
You will receive an order confirmation email and an in-app notification. Track everything from /orders.
Payment options
Kerung supports the most common Nepali payment methods.

eSewa
Instant wallet payment. You will be redirected to eSewa to confirm.

Khalti
Wallet & card payments via Khalti. Confirm the OTP on Khalti and you will be returned to your order page.

ConnectIPS
Bank-to-bank transfer for larger orders. You authenticate with your bank credentials on the ConnectIPS page.

Bank transfer (manual)
For very large orders, choose bank transfer. The seller's bank details and a reference number are shown β upload the deposit slip from your order page once paid.
Track an order & view history
Every order has a live status, tracking page and downloadable invoice.

Open your orders list
Visit /orders or click your name β "Orders". Filter by status (Pending, Confirmed, Shipped, Delivered, Cancelled).

See order details
Click an order to see line items, total, payment status, shipping address and seller contact.

Track shipment
Click "Tracking" to see the courier name, tracking number and real-time status updates pushed by the seller and logistics partner.

Download / print invoice
On the order page click "Print Invoice". Use your browser's "Save as PDF" option to download.

Mark as received
When your order arrives, click "Mark as received" so the seller is paid and you can leave a review.
Post a Request for Quote (RFQ)
When you cannot find exactly what you need, post an RFQ and let sellers come to you.

Open the RFQ form
Visit /rfq/post or click "Post RFQ" in the header dropdown.

Describe what you need
Provide a clear title, category, target quantity, target price, delivery deadline and any specs. Add reference images if helpful.

Receive bids
Verified sellers will submit bids on your RFQ. You will get a notification for each new bid.

Compare and accept
Open /rfq/my to compare bids side-by-side. Accept the best one to convert it into an order or open a chat with the seller first.
Notifications & messages
Stay on top of orders, RFQs and chats from one place.

In-app notifications
The bell icon in the header shows new order updates, chat messages, RFQ bids and offer responses.

Email notifications
Configure which events trigger emails from Settings β Notifications.

Push notifications
On the mobile app, allow push notifications during onboarding to be alerted about new chat messages and order updates.
For sellers
Become a seller
Anyone with a registered business can sell on Kerung.

Register a seller account
During registration choose "Seller" or "Both". If you already have a buyer account, go to Dashboard β "Become a seller".

Complete business profile
Visit /seller/profile and fill in business name, type, registration number, address and contact info.

Upload verification documents
Upload your PAN/VAT certificate and any other required documents. Verification usually takes 1-2 business days.

Set up branding
In the Branding tab add your logo, banner, colours and create custom store pages (About, FAQ, Shipping policy) using the rich text editor β including tables, images and links.
Add and manage products
List your catalogue with detailed information so buyers can find you in search.

Add a new product
Visit /seller/listings β "New product". Fill in title, description, category, price (in NPR), MOQ, SKU and stock.

Upload high-quality photos
Add at least 3 photos in good lighting (max 5MB each). The first image is the cover.

Use bilingual fields
Where possible, fill both English (descriptionEn) and Nepali (descriptionNe) so you reach all buyers.

Manage stock
Update stock counts from the listings page or set "Vacation mode" on a product when you are temporarily out of stock.
Process orders
Once a buyer pays, the order appears in your seller dashboard ready to be fulfilled.

Confirm orders
Open /seller/orders. Confirm new orders within 24 hours so the buyer is reassured.

Pack and ship
Pack the order, hand it to your courier and mark the order as "Shipped". Add a tracking number so the buyer can track.

Update status
Update the status to "Delivered" once the courier confirms delivery β this triggers payout from escrow.

Handle returns
If a buyer raises a return, you will see it in /seller/orders β Disputes. Communicate via chat to resolve.
Bid on RFQs
Browse open RFQs in your category and submit bids to win business.

Find relevant RFQs
Visit /seller/rfq-bids β "Open RFQs". Filter by category and location.

Submit a bid
Click an RFQ and submit your offer with price, lead time and any notes. Attach a sample quote PDF if helpful.

Chat with the buyer
After bidding, you can chat with the buyer to clarify requirements and improve your chances.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Kerung free to use?βΎ
Yes β buyers and sellers can register and use the platform for free. We charge a small commission per successful order, deducted at payout. There are no listing fees.
What does the verified badge mean?βΎ
A verified seller has uploaded valid business registration and PAN/VAT documents that our team has reviewed. Buying from verified sellers reduces fraud risk.
How are payments protected?βΎ
Payments are held in escrow until the buyer marks the order as received. If a dispute is raised, our team mediates before any payout.
Can I use the platform in Nepali?βΎ
Yes. Use the language toggle in the header to switch between English and Nepali. Sellers are encouraged to fill bilingual product descriptions.
Is there a mobile app?βΎ
Yes β Kerung has a mobile app for iOS and Android. Download links are in the footer.
I forgot my password β what do I do?βΎ
Click "Forgot password?" on the login page. We will email you a reset link valid for 1 hour.
How do I delete my account?βΎ
From Settings β Privacy click "Delete account". Active orders must be completed first; your data is deleted within 30 days.
